Human Mast Cells

Mast cells are tissue-resident effector cells of the innate immune system that arise from hematopoietic progenitors and mature under the control of stem cell factor (SCF) and KIT signaling. Upon FcεRI cross-linking by antigen-bound IgE, mast cells rapidly degranulate to release histamine, tryptase, chymase, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins, making them central mediators of immediate hypersensitivity, anaphylaxis, asthma, urticaria, and mastocytosis. Beyond allergic disease, mast cells contribute to host defense against parasites and bacteria, angiogenesis, tissue remodeling, and modulation of the tumor microenvironment, serving as a versatile primary cell system for allergy research, degranulation studies, and the development of anti-allergic and KIT-targeted therapeutics.

MileCell's mast cells are prepared from mobilized peripheral blood, with every lot validated for purity, viability, and immunophenotyping by flow cytometry. Available in fresh format, they can be used in applications spanning IgE-mediated degranulation and mediator release assays, FcεRI and KIT signaling studies, allergy and anaphylaxis modeling, and drug screening for mast cell-related disorders.
