Human Basophils

MileCell offers high-quality, isolated human basophils from peripheral blood, available in fresh format.
Basophils are the rarest circulating granulocytes, accounting for less than 1% of peripheral blood leukocytes, and are characterized by basophilic granules containing histamine, heparin, and proteases. As central effectors of IgE-mediated immediate hypersensitivity, basophils are best known for their role in type I allergic reactions and anaphylaxis, and they also participate in Th2 polarization, autoimmune responses, and host defense. They serve as a critical primary cell system for studying FcεRI signaling, allergic disease mechanisms, and the pharmacology of anti-IgE and antihistamine therapeutics.
MileCell's basophils are isolated from fresh peripheral blood via density gradient centrifugation and erythrocyte lysis, with every lot validated for high purity, viability, and immunophenotyping by flow cytometry. Available in fresh format, they can be used in applications spanning degranulation and histamine release assays, basophil activation testing (BAT), FcεRI-mediated signaling studies, and allergy diagnostics and drug development.
