Respiratory Research
Primary immune cells for respiratory inflammation research.
Respiratory research includes immune responses that influence infection, inflammation and tissue injury. Circulating immune cells provide a useful component for investigating selected mechanisms, even though they do not reproduce airway tissue. MileCell human PBMCs, T cells and monocytes support immune response studies and can be incorporated into separately established respiratory tissue models.
Research Solutions for Respiratory Research
Inflammatory Immune Responses
Investigate cytokine release, immune activation and cell health after defined stimulation or compound exposure. PBMCs provide a mixed immune context, while CD14+ monocytes help resolve selected myeloid responses. Relate the experiment to a specific respiratory research question and use controls that distinguish immune modulation from nonspecific toxicity. These cells are not lung-resident immune populations.
Adaptive Response Studies
Use human T cell subsets to examine activation and proliferation under validated antigen or stimulation conditions. Pair phenotype with functional measurements and include multiple donors where biological variability matters. MileCell cells provide the immune starting population. Respiratory antigens, antigen-presentation conditions and any disease-specific samples are selected separately according to the study.
Immune Components for Airway Co-Cultures
Add PBMCs or monocytes to an independently sourced and qualified airway model to study immune–epithelial communication. Establish medium compatibility and distinguish tissue from immune readouts. MileCell supplies selected immune components. Airway epithelial cells, air–liquid interface media and ready-made lung organoids were not verified in the reviewed MileCell catalog.

FAQs
Are PBMCs a substitute for an airway model?
No. They address circulating immune responses. Tissue-specific respiratory questions require a suitable airway or lung model.
Does MileCell supply alveolar macrophages?
An alveolar macrophage product was not verified. CD14+ monocytes should be described as circulating monocytes or as inputs to a separately validated differentiation model.
